Moldova and China will strengthen the cooperation relations in the economic sphere. A Moldovan-Chinese Business Forum is planned to be organized in October. According to the head of the Chamber of Trade and Industry of Moldova Gheorghe Cucu, the Moldovan entrepreneurs have a great interest in the Chinese market, IPN reports.
A communiqué from the Chamber says the institution recently hosted delegations of Chinese entrepreneurs. There were staged presentations, visits to exhibitions and meetings. “In order to stimulate the initiation and development of partnerships between the businessmen of Moldova and China, this year we have held a number of activities intended for the representatives of the business community,” said Gheorghe Cucu.
He also said that he had a meeting with the economic and commercial advisor of the Embassy of China in Moldova Xu Tongkai, where they discussed the problems faced by the Moldovan companies in the trade with China and possibilities of solving them. Xu Tongkai assured that the Embassy will provide support.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, Moldova in January- May imported Chinese goods to the value of US$183.6 million, up 18% compared with the corresponding period last year. Moldova’s exports to China in the period came to US$1.9 million, an increase of 35% on last January-May.
