Economic cooperation between Chisinau and Tiraspol yields results
The intensification of economic cooperation between the Moldovan Government and the Tiraspol administration has a beneficial impact on the activity of companies in the eastern districts. The statement was made during an interview for Radio Moldova by Galina Popici, head of the “Intereconomservis” company from Ribnita, the only representative of Moldova’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) in the Transnistrian region, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Galina Popic, after the resuming of railway traffic, the Cement Factory from Rabnita increased its exports to Ukraine. The factory’s production is gaining reputation on the right bank of the Nistru as well. Positive results have been experienced by other companies as well.
Galina Popic claims that local companies want to get registered in Moldova in order to be able to export, but they wish they could do it in Rabnita or other towns from the eastern districts instead of Chisinau, so that they could save time.
Moreover, according to Galina Popic, the companies would like to learn more about the economic agreements signed by Moldova, about large investment projects, which contain grants. The companies think that when potential investors are about to choose Moldova as the destination of their capital, the authorities in Chisinau, including the CCI, should also consider the companies from the Transnistrian region, as many of them have experience in collaborating with foreign partners, including some from the EU.
“The region is known for its clothing and footwear companies, as well as other branches of light industry. We know that the Government, in collaboration with nongovernmental organizations, plans to revise the plan regarding staff training for light industry and other fields. Our request is that companies from the left bank of the Nistru are included in the program. We have a lack of qualified workers here, not only for light industry, but for other branches as well. We have some ideas about how we can solve this problem through joint efforts”, added Galina Popic.
“Intereconomservis” collaborates with 14 companies from the Transnistrian region, members of the CCI.
