Ecological Inspectorate consents to cutting fir tree for Chisinau
It is already definite that the Christmas tree that will be set up in the center of Chisinau this year will be brought from Bozieni, Hancesti. The Bozieni local council this week has decided that the fir tree growing in the yard of the mayor’s office is the most suitable for Chisinau’s Christmas tree, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Mayor of Bozieni Ludmila Dubchak said she already received the authorization from the Local Ecological Inspectorate.
According to the head of the Green Areas Association Eliferii Haruta, the fir tree will be cut at the start of next week.
The tree was planted in 1972 and is over 20 meters high. The Chisinau City Hall will pay 11,000 lei for it, by 2,000 lei more than for the tree bought last year.
The Christmas tree will be placed in the Great National Assembly Square on November 25. On December 1, the lights on it will be switched on.
After it is undecorated, the Christmas tree becomes lumber that is used to repair the benches in the central park of Chisinau.
