Ecological expedition along Camenca River
The Women’s Association for Environment Protection and Sustainable Development is launching the ecological expedition “Keep Small Rivers Alive” that will last by August 1. The journey will take place along the Camenca River that springs in Borosenii-Noi village of Rascani district and flows into the Prut in Pruteni, Falesti, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communiqué from the NGO, the aim of the expedition is to attract public attention to the importance of protecting the small rivers that flow through every settlement of Moldova.
The expedition will include the assessment of the ecological state of the river, which is a tributary to the Prut, and an ecological education program intended for young people from the settlements situated on the bank of the Camenca, who will stay in the reserve “Padurea Domneasca” (Lordly Forest) for 10 days. A portion of the river will be cleaned on July 22, together with the young people and residents of Moara Domneasca village.
The event form part of the project “Let’s Look after Small Rivers together with their Beneficiaries” that was initiated by the Women’s Association for Environment Protection and Sustainable Development and is financed with money from the National Ecological Fund and a number of partners.
The conclusions of the expedition will be made public in a forum in Glodeni.
