ECHR-case-winning lawyer quits practice to become MP
Lawyer Vitalie Nagacevschi, famous for his victories at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), said Tuesday he would suspend his practice of law in order to be able to fill his seat as member of Parliament, which he won on the Liberal Democratic Party's ticket in April.
Nagachevschi said his decision won't affect the course of the cases he's currently handling, among them the much-publicized case of businessman Gabriel Stati, who was arrested on charges of plotting the riots that broke out after the April polls.
