Moldovan judges and public prosecutors will have the opportunity to study the decisions and judgments of the European Court of Human Rights pronounced against Moldova, thanks to the NGO Lawyers for Human Rights, which has provided translations into the official language. According to the NGO, the first three volumes, which are already available, comprise decisions pronounced between September 12, 1997 and December 31, 2005. The fourth volume of the publication will appear in late February and will include the decisions pronounced until 2006. Decisions and judgements are arranged by order of announcement by the Court in Strasbourg. There are 1,000 copies of the publication, which will be distributed free of charge to judges, public prosecutors, lawyers, libraries, public authorities and non-governmental organisations involved in defending and promoting human rights. The publication aims to eliminate language barriers to the enforcement of the European Convention on Human Rights in Moldova, as well as to ensure a wider access of specialists to the ECHR case-law. The organisation intends to translate and publish the judgements and the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights that will appear later. The publication appeared with the financial support of the Sweden-based Helsinki Committee for Human Rights. So far, Moldova has been found guilty in more than 100 cases examined by the ECHR, 60 of which in 2007, Info-Prim Neo reports.
