New mechanisms for protecting the rights of entrepreneurs will be developed in Moldova with the assistance of the EBRD. The subject was discussed in a meeting of Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici and representatives of a delegation of the EBRD led by Francis Malige, Director for Eastern Europe and Caucasus, IPN reports.
Chiril Gaburici pleaded for continuing the projects implemented with the support of the EBRD, including for strengthening the Premier’s Economic Council and accelerating the reforms designed to improve the business climate in Moldova. Among the discussed subjects were also the institution of the post of ombudsperson for business and the development of the mechanism of mediation in business disputes.
Francis Malige said the EBRD is ready to support the reforms done in Moldova and to provide the necessary expertise in this respect.
The sides exchanged opinions on the situation in the financial-banking sector and on the measures that should be taken to ensure stability in this field and to attract investments to the country’s economy. They also discussed the EBRD’s activity in different areas, the implementation level of the joint projects and the prospects of establishing new partnerships.
