EBRD consultants expected in Chisinau this week

Consultants from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will be in Chisinau this week to wrap up the documentation necessary for conducting tender procedures for three of the six streets in central Chisinau that are to be fully rehabilitated, Info-Prim Neo reports. Municipal transport chief Adrian Boldurescu told the City Hall's meeting on Monday that the three streets include Stefan cel Mare Blvd, Constantin Negruzzi Blvd and Vasile Alecsandri St. Bids are supposed to be invited in February and the repair will start when weather conditions allow it. Meanwhile, terms of references will be developed. The three other streets that are to be rehabilitated include Tighina St, 31 August St and Alexandru cel Bun St. Besides the repair of the carriageway, piping and wiring will be replaced, and sidewalks, parking lots and street lights will be rehabilitated as well. The total amount borrowed from the EBRD for the rehabilitation of these six streets is 22 million euros. The loan is offered for a period of 10 years, with a grace period of 2 years, and at an interest rate of 5%.
