Easter is the most important holiday of the Orthodox Christians and represents a guarantee that all the dead will become alive again, when the world ends. Archbishop Vasile Panas, bishop of the Chisinau Church “Saint Trinity”, has told Info-Prim Neo that the people should celebrate the entire week until Low Sunday or the Sunday of the Dead. According to the priest, the teachings of Jesus Christ passed on by the Apostles say that we will return to life at the Apocalypse, will stay before the Judge and will get what we deserve for what we did while in the body – eternal life or eternal condemnation. “We prepare beforehand for the Resurrection. The Christians do it by fasting, repenting and praying in church,” said Vasile Panas. The most important holiday is observed for a week. According to the priest, the week from Easter until Low Sunday is the Radiant Week and this week should be celebrated in high moods, being spiritually prepared for this. Afterward, the Christians go to the graves to pray and give alms.
