The students with grave neuromotor or visual impairments will be allotted more time for the Baccalaureate tests. In the foreign language exam, the candidates will be given by up to two hours more, while in the other exams – by up to one hour more. The National Exams Commission approved relevant instructions that specify how the exams for this category of students should be organized, IPN reports, quoting the Ministry of Education.
The students with special educational needs (SENs) will take the exams in specially laid out areas outfitted with ramps, adjusted sanitary facilities, special lighting, etc. The candidates who cannot write or read the exam text will have by an assistant who will help them by writing or reading.
The candidates who are confined to bed can ask to be allowed to take the exam at home simultaneously with all the other candidates. For the purpose, the heads of the exams centers will designate by an assistant who will travel to the place of the candidate to supervise the exam.
To benefit from the special exam taking conditions, the parents and students must submit an application to the director of the education institution, based on the conclusion of the Medical Consultative Council. For their part, the institutions will lodge the files to the district/municipal education divisions that will submit them to the National Exams Commission for consideration.
