Early elections can be avoided, Ecologist Party secretary
The Ecologist Party “Green Alliance” of Moldova remains loyal to the Alliance for European Integration (AEI), the party's secretary Andrei Dumbraveanu told a news conference on September 14, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
According to Dumbraveanu, in order to avoid early elections the AEI should field a neutral candidate for the post of head of state so that the sides could reach a compromise. “The efficiency of the renewed democracy at social, ecological and economic levels depends on the abilities of the politicians that form part of the Alliance for European Integration,” he said.
Andrei Dumbraveanu also spoke about the necessity of liquidating and merging a number of ministries. “There are too many ministries. They must be merged so that there are only bodies that create conditions for carrying out the tasks,” he said.
Anatol Prohnitchi, the vice president of the Ecologist Party, stressed the importance of promoting the truth about the events that happened in Chisinau on April 7. “The April 7 events have not been elucidated and this can cause problems in the future. Five months have passed and the persons to blame have not been yet made known. We demand that the executive take measures to clarify those events,” he said.
The Ecologist Party “Green Alliance” of Moldova welcomed the decision made by the Constitutional Court on September 8, whereby the examination of the constitutionality of the Parliament's decision to appoint Mihai Ghimpu as Speaker was stopped, saying that the instruments for building a state of law have not been lost for good.
