The Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (EaP CSF) published a statement referring to the reports concerning the situation at the Ombudsperson’s Office. The member organizations of the EaP SCF Moldova National Platform express their concern about the alleged violations committed by the Ombudswoman. “In this connection, we ask for immediate public explanations from the Ombudswoman over the status of citizen Dumitru Godorog as part of the institution, his involvement in the institution’s activity, presence of potential conflicts of interest, abuse of power and inappropriate management of the institution’s assets,” says the EaP CSF’s statement that is quoted by IPN.
The EaP CSF called on the responsible bodies to investigate the circumstances reported by the press. “If the press reports are confirmed, we demand that Ombudswoman Natalia Moloșag should immediately and unconditionally resign as the damage done to the Ombudsperson’s Office is incommensurable,” runs the statement.
According to recent press reports, Ombudswoman Natalia Moloșag in her job uses the services of a person who was earlier convicted of illegalities.
