The tender contest announced on the third day by the central electrical energy supplier Energocom was won by two bidders – the international trading house DXT Commodities, which is a leading player in the wholesale natural gas and power market, and the Polish company PGNiG. The two will supply natural gas to Moldova on October 28, IPN reports.

The Public Property Agency said the volume of gas purchased on October 25 from PGNiG and on October 26 from the Dutch company Vitol was shipped to Moldova in accordance with the terms of the contract.

The Moldovan authorities avoid specifying the price paid by the Republic of Moldova for the gas bought from alternative sources, invoking the trade secret.

In a press release, the Russian gas giant Gazprom said the negotiations on the supply of natural gas to the Republic of Moldova “continued”, reminding that the current contract expires at the end of this month. It is not mentioned if the chairman of the Management Board of Gazprom Alexei Miller and Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu reached a consensus for overcoming the energy crisis.
