Duty relief for villages bordering Transnistrian zone

Both natural and legal persons from the settlements lying close to the Transnistrian zone will enjoy tax relief on goods transportation, Info-Prim Neo reports. Natural persons, including peasant farms and individual entrepreneurs from 44 villages in the districts of Dubasari, Anenii Noi, Causeni, Criuleni, Rezina, Orhei, Floresti, Soldanesti and Stefan Vodă as well as Vadul lui Voda town, which adjoin the administrative borders drawn by the Tiraspol regime, will be able to pass their own agricultural production duty-free through the internal customs checkpoints. At the same time, the goods produced by natural or legal entities – subjects of entrepreneurial activity, based on the territory of Moldova and registered with the State Registration Chamber, but which DO NOT have fiscal relations with the budgetary system of Moldova – and delivered to either natural or legal entities – subjects of entrepreneurial activity, based on the territory of Moldova and which have fiscal relations with the budgetary system – are exempted from all duties and taxes, except for excises, when crossing internal customs checkpoints. Viorel Melnic, general director of the Customs Service, these stipulations will exclude the randomness of offering tax exemptions by the internal customs checkpoints and will curb corruption among the staff. At the same time, it was estimated that the measure will insignificantly affect tax returns (by up to 1 million lei).
