The Durleşti river bed is being cleaned on a length of 550 meters, in the perimeter of Gh. Codreanu St and the entrance to the International Exhibitions Center “Moldexpo”. The project was drafted by the “Acvaproiect” Institute and will be completed at the end of summer. Besides the collection of waste, the riverbed is being extended and deepened to 2 meters, IPN reports.

About 2 tonnes of waste was extracted from that portion. This can have a direct impact on the lake of the Park “Valea Morilor” that fuels itself with water from this river, said Mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban, who visited the place to see how the works go. He called on all the citizens to keep the places clean and to behave ecologically responsibly.

The works are executed by two business entities that erected residential complexes in the area. On the other side of the river, cleanup works on a length of 2 km were started in 2016 and a sum of 15 million lei was allocated from the municipal budget for the purpose.
