Dumitru Diacov: PDM will be a governing pillar and will discuss with all those who will enter Parliament

After this year’s parliamentary elections, the Democratic Party (PDM) will be a governing pillar and will discuss with all those who will enter the legislative body, the party’s president of honor Dumitru Diacov stated in the program “Emphasis on today” on TVR Moldova channel, IPN reports.

Dumitru Diacov said the PDM will be anyway in government and could cooperate with any party. “The Democratic Party will be a governing pillar and will discuss with all those who be in Parliament. Don’t forget that besides parties, there will also be 50 independent MPs,” he stated.

According to the politician, there are two-three parties that will be able to gain votes in the electoral constituencies created based on the mixed-member electoral system and the PDM will be among these. “Many people will vote for parties that will propose a coherent government program for dealing with the existing problems,” said Dumitru Diacov.

Journalist Igor Volnitski said attempts are being made to polarize society according to several clear criteria in connection with the parliamentary elections of this year, namely: geopolitical criterion, statehood - union criterion and oligarchy - anti-oligarchy criterion. “The next two-three months will be decisive from the viewpoint of polarization of society. The principles used to polarize society will determine the final results of the parties,” he noted.

According to the journalist, regardless of the society polarization principles, the Party of Socialists, the Democratic Party and the pro-European opposition of the right represented by the Party “Action and Solidarity” and the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” will definitely enter the next legislature.
