Dumitru Diacov: It’s inadmissible for Parliament to go on vacation before installing Government

The president of honor of the Democratic Party (PDM) Dumitru Diacov said it’s inadmissible for Parliament to go on vacation before installing the Government. In an interview for Radio Free Europe, the MP said he hoped the Cabinet will be installed by July 15, but understands that this is not possible and is yet hopeful that a Government will be formed at least by end-July, IPN reports.

“I think the discussions should be ended. If it’s about these three parties (PLDM, PDM, PL – e.n.), they have experience as they already formed two governments together. They should thus encounter no problems. I hope things will be clarified and an agreement will be ultimately reached,” stated Dumitru Diacov.

Asked if he is taking part in the negotiations on the formation of an alliance, the MP said he takes part and does not. There is a formula when only the party leaders have discussions and there is a formula when the leaders plus two-three persons hold talks. “We must stop and descend from the barricades. Too much effort is made to maintain these barricades – you with the Russians and you with the Romanians – instead of going down and trying to make Parliament more uniform. A pro-Romanian government, a very pro-Romanian one, represents a problem for a part of the population, while a pro-Russian government is a problem for the other part,” stated Dumitru Diacov.

He added he realizes that this thing will never lead to peace, quietness, coexistence and understanding.
