Dumitru Diacov: Democratic Party cannot annul votes of MPs

The Democratic Party does not have the right to annul the votes of MPs who supported the Government as this is each one’s right, the president of honor of the PDM Dumitru Diacov said in the talk show “Fourth power” on N4 TV channel, IPN reports.

“We discussed with protesters’ leaders. They want the vote of confidence given to the Government to be annulled and early elections to be called. This is not so simple. We will consult the jurists, but the Democratic Party does not decide, even if the Head of Parliament is from our party. A number of 57 MPs voted for the Filip Government and each of them had the right to do it. We cannot nullify their votes. Who can ban an MP from voting a Government?” asked the Democratic heavyweight.

Dumitru Diacov made it clear that the PDM will not renounce power. “If we have the possibility of governing, why should they prevent us from doing this? I understand these parties and the games they play, but what will happen after the elections? I think the parliamentary elections should be held in normal conditions,” he stated.

The president of honor of the PDM considers the dialogue is the best solution. “We must discuss calmly. The people who protest are interested not in early elections, but rather in higher salaries, better living conditions and jobs. This is what we should discuss,” said Dumitru Diacov.
