The National Integrity Authority (NIA) ascertained a difference of over 600,000 lei between the assets and incomes earned by Democratic MP Dumitru Diacoa and his wife in 2014-2019. The NIA will send the case to court so that the procedure for confiscating the ill-gotten gains is launched.
According to the NIA, even if the MP benefitted from the right to present his viewpoint during the control procedure, he justified only a part of the owned property.
If the document issued by the NIA remains definitive, the MP risk being banned from holding a public post, including the seat of MP, for a period of three years and to be included in the Agency’s Bans Register.
