Dumitru Diacov: 2007 Local General Elections were Moldova’s most difficult
The 2007 local general elections were “the most impertinent and most difficult” elections in Moldova’s history, as the government massively attempted to intimidate the opposition, Dumitru Diacov, leader of the Democrat Party told Info-Prim Neo after he had cast his vote.
According to Diacov, the significance of these elections is great. “There is hope that everything will get better, but unfortunately there are lots of questions left unanswered”, he says.
When asked how the results of the election will influence the political behaviour of the DP, Diacov said they will make the party work harder, strengthen the team at local level, so that DP would come with a clearer message in front of the entire country. “DP will surely remain the same constructive party which tries to interpret things from a rational standpoint”, Dumitru Diacov concluded.
