Dumitru Braghiș nominated ambassador to China

Former Prime Minister Dumitru Braghiș, who also served as ambassador to Russia, was nominated as Moldova’s ambassador to China. The draft decree was approved by the Government on June 17, IPN reports.

The executive also proposed Ion Stavilă for ambassador to Estonia. Both of the draft decrees are to be signed by President Igor Dodon.

In the same meeting, the Government approved the resignation of Vadim Cojocaru from the post of chief of the General Police Inspectorate and named Sergiu Paiu instead of him. Minister of Home Affairs Pavel Voicu said Sergiu Paiu will take up his duties on June 18 and will hold the post during five years. Paiu has worked in the police force since 1992 and is currently the deputy chief of the General Police Inspectorate.
