Dumitru Alaiba: PSRM invents new pretexts to avoid discussions with ACUM

MP of the Bloc ACUM Dumitru Alaiba said the members of the Party of Socialists invent new pretexts in order to avoid discussions with the MPs of ACUM. In the talk show “Experise hour” on Jurnal TV channel, he noted the Socialists do not place the country’s interests at the forefront, IPN reports.

“The current period is very important. It is a very dangerous period. We are at the next crossroads – we either sink down, in the darkness, for the next ten years of isolation and dictatorship or go slightly towards normalization,” stated Dumitru Alaiba. He noted the period after elections reveals more signs that the Socialists do not want the current system to be demolished.

MP of the Bloc ACUM Kiril Moțpan said the fact that the PSRM didn’t come to discussions on April 24 is not a big tragedy. This way the Socialists showed once again that they do not take decisions themselves. The MPs of the Bloc ACUM propose a new approach to politics to the people. “We want to govern and to avoid the chaos that can be witnessed mainly owing to the Democratic Party. But we want to do this openly, transparently and with an agenda  that would suit each citizen,” he stated.

Former MP Valeriu Ghiletski noted the Bloc ACUM accepted the game with the Socialists. “I didn’t see others negotiating like they do now. Negotiations cannot be heled on TV. These are talk shows. The negotiations are different. I wouldn’t have gone to Parliament today. If we discussed with them and they said they would not come, who is this circus staged for?” asked the ex-MP.

Dumitru Roibu, president of the Association “Stephan’s Followers”, said that after the elections the people expected the Socialists and the Bloc ACUM to sit at the negotiating table. Some of the current MPs are unable to govern the country and that’s why the current situation was reached. The activist wondered what will happen if the current Parliament composition does not change significantly after eventual snap elections. The parties of the right will never obtain separately 51 seats of MP to have a majority.

Socialist lawmakers didn’t show up for a discussion that MPs of the ACUM parliamentary group hoped to have on April 24. Representatives of the bloc said the PSRM demonstrated they aren’t ready to discuss seriously, noting the ball is now in the Socialists’ court and they are to decide if they will wait for two month until Parliament is dissolved or will do something of the own program.

One day earlier, the Party of Socialists reiterated its readiness to form working groups to discuss matters related to the election of Parliament leadership and examine legislative proposals from both sides. “But this can only happen if ACUM shows readiness to consider the formation of a stable governing coalition based on the proposals put forward by the PSRM National Council for the purpose of changing the current government system and avoiding snap elections”, stated Ion Ceban, the party’s chief ideologist.
