Tennis player Maxim Dubarenco, who is the second best player of Moldova’s national team, will play the first match of the duel with Egypt at the Davis Cup on January 31. He will meet the best player of the hosts Mohamed Safwat. The game will take place at the Polyvalent Hall in Chisinau, after the opening ceremony, at 2pm, IPN reports.

After this match, Moldova’s leader Radu Albot will play against the second best player of Egypt Karim Hossam.

On February 1, there will be played only one doubles match. The pair Albot/Ciumac will meet the couple Safwat/Sabry. On the last day of the competition, Moldova will be represented by Radu Albot and Maxim Dubarenco.

”I cannot say that they are much weaker than we, even if we are the favorites. But we are prepared and are in a good form. We will do our utmost to win against Egypt,” Maxim Dubarenco said after the draw.

“We are more experienced in the Davis Cup. The Egypt’s team is not the most powerful. I’m sure we will beat them if we concentrate and do everything with certainty,” stated Radu Albot.

The duel between Moldova and Egypt forms part of the first round of the Europe/Africa Second Zone of the Davis Cup. Tickets are available from the head office of the Tennis Federation, located at 144 Columna St. Prices vary between 50 and 100 lei a day.
