The dry leaves gathered in the courts of apartment buildings and adjoining areas will be collected during a week. In the course of last week, the workers daily collected by about 60 vehicles of dry leaves, IPN reports.

In the December 16 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, the head of the General Public Amenities Division Ion Burdiumov said 380 persons on average were involved in the leaves collection process last week. The leaves are taken away by about 30 trucks assisted by five front-end loaders. Approximately 2,850 garbage trucks have been collected so far this season.

Ion Burdiumov said the dry leaves in 93% of the 1,100 courts of apartment buildings managed by the municipal authorities had been transported away. They also collect the leaves accumulated in the courts of blocks managed by homeowners associations.

In the meeting, it was suggested installing surveillance cameras at improvised waste dumps so as to identify and fine the persons who throw waste there.
