A drunken motorcyclist on Tuesday, March 4, caused a traffic accident in which the only person injured was himself. Silvia Babara, doctor coordinator at the Chisinau Emergency Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the accident occurred at around 6:00 pm in the intersection of Stefan cel Mare Blvd and Serghei Lazo Str. The 30-year-old driver lost control over his Honda motorcycle, ending up on the ground with his shank bones fractured. A drunken male pedestrian, aged 59, was hit by a Volkswagen car while jaywalking. The man was admitted to hospital with right femur fracture. A 43-year-old woman suffered soft tissue injuries while traveling in a Volkswagen car which collided with an Audi on Calea Mosilor Str. An unidentified man in his mid-50s was found in the street with coma of unknown etiology. Another one, aged 50, suffered sudden death. A 28-year-old woman under the influence of alcohol cut superficially her left wrist in a suicide attempt. On Tuesday, March 4, the Chisinau Emergency Service received 752 calls, responding to 52 cases of trauma, 77 cases of acute viral diseases, 5 brain strokes and 33 cases of mumps.
