A policeman driving under the influence of alcohol hit two pedestrians walking along the sidewalk. The accident occurred on Sunday, May 21, at 22.40 on Alba Iulia Street in Chisinau. A drunk driver caused a road accident on the same street three hours later, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the police colonel aged 47, education department head at the Cadets Lyceum “Saint Gheorghe” of the Interior Ministry’s Academy “Stefan cel Mare”, was driving a Renault-Laguna car along Alba Iulia Street. Being under the influence of alcohol, the colonel lost the control of the car and going onto the sidewalk hit two pedestrians. As a result of the impact, the victims suffered different traumas. Officials in charge of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are investigating the case. Three traffic accidents that resulted in four persons injured occurred in the Chisinau municipality during the past 48 hours.
