A man who killed a woman and two children while driving his car under the influence in Volintiri village, Stefan Voda district, was sentenced to 4 years probation. The prosecution considers the sentence overly mild and intends to appeal it, the Prosecutor General's Office said in a press release. The man, 33, was also ordered by the court, of the prosecution's request, to pay 200,000 lei damages to the family of the victims. The accident occurred in February 2012. The drunk driver lost control over the vehicle and struck a woman and her two grandsons, 2 and 3. The woman died instantly, the 3-year-old boy died on the way to the hospital, and his brother died the next day.
