A young man, 21, driving under the influence of alcohol committed a traffic accident which damaged not only his car but also a metal parapet, a billboard and stoplight in downtown Chisinau Chisinau Road Safety Service Inspector Ion Roscovanu told Info-Prim Neo that the accident occurred at 1:15 at the crossing of Stefan cel Mare Boulevard and Ismail Street. Speeding under the influence of alcohol, the young man, who was driving an Opel-Tigra, ran into a metal parapet, which did not resist the collision, so that the vehicle continued its trajectory and damaged a billboard and a semaphore. The driver suffered only minor traumas. Over the past 24 hours, road inspectors registered 22 traffic accidents in the municipality of Chisinau, which resulted in 6 injured persons. On the same day, the road inspectors fined 466 drivers, including 82 for speeding, and 10 for drunk-driving.
