Drunk driver hits passenger minibus
A drunk driver caused a traffic accident involving a passenger minibus. Silvia Babara, doctor coordinator at the Chisinau Emergency Service, told Info-Prim Neo that the accident took place on Tuesday, January 29, at around 9:00 pm, on Milescu Spataru Street.
A 24-year-old man, driving a Volkswagen car under the influence of alcohol, hit at high speed a Mercedes minibus on route 166. Fortunately, none of the passengers on the minibus was hurt; however, its driver needed medical assistance. The guilty driver was also taken to hospital with brain concussion and multiple wounds.
In the intersection of the streets Miron Costin and Florilor, a 12-year-old girl was stricken by a Moskvici car, suffering multiple bruises.
On Tuesday morning, a 30-year old woman was found dead in downtown Chisinau on Stefan cel Mare Blvd. The case is investigated by coroners and the police.
On Tuesday, the Chisinau Emergency Service responded to 894 calls, involving, among others, 40 cases of trauma, 111 of acute viral diseases in children and 39 in adults, 3 brain storks, 9 cases of acute coronary syndrome and 52 case of mumps.
