A drunken male driver aged 29 caused a traffic accident in which he suffered severe injuries. According to the Chisinau Emergency Service, the man was driving at high speed a Lada car on Chisinau-Stauceni roadway late on Friday night, at around 2:30, when he lost steering control, skidded off the road and plunged into a drainage ditch, suffering severe spinal injuries. Last evening, at about 18:00, a 40-year-old woman from Anenii-Noi attempted to cross Renasterii Blvd, nearby the Circus, when she was stricken by a Mercedes. The victim was admitted to the Emergency Service with her basin bones fractured. A 35-year old man was driven to the same hospital with brain concussion and occipital wound after being hit by an UAZ jeep in the village of Bulboaca, about 30 kilometers away from Chisinau. This year there were recorded 408 traffic accidents which resulted in 57 casualties and 350 injured persons.
