Two people, aged 22 and 34, were caught red-handed in Chisinau when they were putting drugs in hiding places. Following searches, the police seized prohibited substances to the value of 400,000 lei, IPN reports.
According to the investigators, the suspects purchased drugs through Telegram. The payments were made electronically and transferred to bank accounts opened in the name of intermediaries. The suspects were arrested during an operation carried out by investigation officers and prosecutors of the capital city.
About 200 grams of mephedrone, 80 grams of hashish, MDMA pills, precision scales and mobile phones with details about the illegal activities were found at suspects' homes.
From a hiding place on Grenoble St in Chisinau, law enforcement officers seized 100 grams of hashish and 50 grams of heroin.
The suspects were placed under arrest for 72 hours and, if they are found guilty, will serve 7 to 15 years in prison.
