There is no risk for the capital’s residents to remain without tap water, according to the national authorities in Chisinau and Kiev, Info-Prim Neo learned from a press release of the capital’s water utility Apa-Canal Chisinau. “The alarming state of the Nistru River and the risk of Chisinau remaining without water worried local authorities. Thanks to the intervention of Apa-Canal Chisinau and the State Agency “Moldova’s Waters”, the water level in the Nistru was maintained”, reads the ACC press release. According to the deputy director of “Moldova’s Waters” Mihail Pencov, quoted in the ACC press release, the Ukrainian experts assured that the Novodnestrovsk storage lake had enough water to keep the water level in the Nistru from reaching a critical low. The water flow would be increased so that the pumps of the Nistru Water Station could work continuously. Apa-Canal Chisinau adds that the water reserves in its 42 reservoirs increased and the water supply circuit of artesian wells was extended.
