Driving school director and chief medical officer held for bribe-taking
A driving school director and a chief medical officer are suspected of bribe-taking and abuse of office, Info-Prim Neo learned from the Interior Ministry’s press service.
According to the cited source, the director of the driving school was arrested when he was receiving 1,750 lei from a man in exchange for a graduation certificate and mediation for a B-type driver’s license. Legal proceedings on charges of bribe-taking have been initiated against the director.
The chief narcologist of the Soroca District Hospital was caught red handed when he was pocketing a sum of $400 from a patient who asked to be erased from the drug-abuser list and be issued with a relevant certificate. The doctor is prosecuted on charges of passive corruption.
If found guilty, both men could face fines from 20,000 to 60,000 lei or imprisonment terms from 5 to 10 years. In both cases they will not be able to occupy certain posts or practice certain activities for 2 to 5 years.
