Due to overnight blizzard, driving conditions remain difficult on some sections of roads in the south of Moldova. According to a press release from the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure, snow removal efforts are being carried on round the clock.
One-lane traffic has been restored between kilometers 127 and 137, and 158 and 161 on road M3 (Chisinau – Giurgiulesti), with full traffic to be restored in the course of the day.
Near the border crossing Tudora, traffic is also on a single lane on road R 52 -R 30 between kilometers 0 and 6. It is expected the road will be fully drivable by 3:00PM.
Also by 3:00PM, traffic will be restored on the local road leading to the village of Marianca de Jos, Stefan Voda district.
By 5:00PM, there will be unblocked the local roads leading to the villages Cairaclia, Taraclia district, and Samalia, Tolica, Bobocica and Craciun in Cantemir district.
134 units of machinery and 361 workers are involved in the snow removal.
