Drivers who provide taxi services stopped by police

Patrolling inspectors and inspectors of the National Auto Transport Agency checked a number of drivers who provide taxi services. They established that a part of these didn’t have a license for performing entrepreneurial activities and didn’t have the copy of the certificate showing that they were authorized to provide services for money and of the certificate of professional competence, IPN reports.

These also didn’t have vehicle inspection and medical examination certificates. As a result, there were drawn up 22 reports to impose fines for administrative offenses and to withdraw license plates.

A number of 450 reports on administrative offenses were produced so far this year. A number of 80 license plates were withdrawn. A representative of the inspection bodies said the inspections at all the bus terminals in the country, on the national roads and at border crossing points will be intensified so as to identify and penalize those who illegally transport persons and parcels.

The action formed part of the “Illicit Taxi” operation and was aimed at combating illegal passenger transportation services.
