The drivers are strongly advised to avoid the central part of Chisinau tomorrow, May 14, given the series of events set to take place there. The public transport will be diverted to the central boulevard, depending on necessities, and a parking lot will be set up in the square of the National Opera House “Maria Biesu”, IPN reports.
General Police Inspectorate deputy head Gheorghe Gavcaliuc told a news conference that the Recruit’s Day will be mounted in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau starting at 11am.
A group of parents will mount a protest against the 40-day vacation in kindergartens in front of the Ministry of Education (Government Building, entrance from G. Banulescu-Bodoni St) starting at 10am. Another protest, against the modification of the electoral system, will be staged in front of the Parliament Building at midday.
The police recommend the persons who do not plan to take part in these events to avoid the crowded areas in central Chisinau. Coming to the protests with weapons or under the influence of alcohol is banned. Those who will come accompanied by minors should be maximally prudent. The event organizers are urged to denounce possible instigators or inebriated persons.
In emergencies or uncertain situations, one should call 902 or 112.
