Drivers travel with lights on from November 1

From November 1 until the end of next March, the drivers are obliged to travel with the lights on during the day, until the visibility is low. Such a practice is used in Moldova the second year, Info-Prim Neo reports. Traffic Police Division spokeswoman Dana Andronic said traveling with the lights on during the day became a necessity owing to the increased number of traffic accidents. Studies show the drivers are more attentive to the traffic when the lights are on. From 2011, all the cars and trucks sold in the European Union will be equipped with lights that go on automatically. Between November 1, 2009 and March 19, 2010, 3,529 drivers had been fined 20 to 60 lei for traveling with the day lights off.
