Methane filling stations have been stormed in the Transnistrian region after restrictions were lifted. As of Tuesday, individuals can also fill their cars with gas, not only those of the public amenities services, the police and the public service, as it happened after January 1, IPN reports.
The restrictions were introduced after the Russian company Grazprom stopped supplying gas to the region on January 1.
On February 1, Moldovagaz started to deliver natural gas to the Transnistrian region based on a contract to lend 3 million cubic meters of gas, which was recently signed with Tiraspoltransgaz.
For purchasing gas for consumers from the left bank of the Nistru, the European Union allocated €20 million from a larger grant. According to the Ministry of Energy, the money will also be used to keep a block of the MGRES power plant in operation until February 10.
