The results of the toxicological expertise ordered in the case of the driver who fatally hit a three-year-old child in Vărvăreuca village of Florești district by his car showed that he was not under the influence of prohibited substances.

The details were provided to IPN by the head of the Communication and Protocol Division of the General Police Inspectorate Diana Fetco.

The accident occurred in August in a local park. The three-year-old girl was with her father, who was spending time with a group of people, including the driver who caused the accident. At one point, he started to reverse his car at speed, without securing himself, and struck the child. Doctors could not save the child.

The 34-year-old man is being investigated under arrest.
