The man who caused a lethal crash in the Chisinau suburb of Ghidighici in June was driving under the influence and was speeding, prosecutors revealed upon completing their investigation and forwarding it to court.

The 33-year-old will face up to 12 years in jail for the deadly crash that killed a young woman, 30, and her 7-month-old baby. They were survived by another child, 4, who was in the hit car, too, but who only suffered moderate injuries.

According to prosecutors, the accused intends to plead guilty.
