The criminal case against the driver who two months ago caused a serious road accident that resulted in the death of two persons was sent to court, IPN reports, quoting the Chisinau City Prosecutor’s Office.
On the night of May 17, the man, driving an Audi car, didn’t stop at the red traffic lights at the intersection of Ismail St and Ștefan cel Mare Blvd in Chisinau and struck a cab, his car being then projected into another car that stopped legally.
As a result of the impact, the cab driver and passenger died on the spot, while three persons suffered injuries.
Immediately after the accident, the Audi driver was arrested. He denied blame and refused to cooperate with prosecutors. Only on July 6, he accepted blame.
The violation of road safety rules by a person driving a vehicle that results in death carries six to ten years in jail and ban on driving.
