Driver of Moldova’s Embassy in Moscow caught with fake license

The driver of the car used by Moldova’s Embassy in Moscow was caught with a fake driver’s license at the Palanca border crossing point on June 7. In a press release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration says it was informed about this by the Border Police, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry, the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the Russian Federation organized the urgent trip of functionaries of the Embassy, including of the Security and Intelligence Service officer detached to Moscow, to safely take the car and continue the way.

The Ministry noted the integrity of the diplomatic mail wasn’t affected, while the vehicle is now in the Embassy’s car park.

Also, the Embassy ordered to urgently dismiss the driver and to thoroughly investigate the incident and submit the materials to the responsible bodies for examination.
