Sheriff will meet the winner of the encounter between Inter Escaldes, Andorra, and Dundalk, Ireland, in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. The match will take place in Tiraspol on September 24, IPN reports.
Sheriff will most probably play against Dundalk, which ranks third in the championship of Ireland after nine stages and was beaten by Celje 0-3 in the UEFA Champions League. The team trained by Zoran Zekic in August played two matches in the preliminary rounds of the Champions League. It defeated Fola Esch of Luxemburg 2-0 and lost to Qarabag of Azerbaijan 1-2.
Another Moldovan team, Sfîntul Gheorghe, will compete in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. After beating Shakhtyor Soligorsk of Belarus, the team from Suruceni will play against Partizan Belgrade, which last year competed in the Europa League groups. The game will take place in Orhei on September 17.
