Moldovan taekwondo athlete Dragoș Marinescu has won a silver medal at the European Under 21 Taekwondo Championships held in Bucharest, IPN reports.

In the final of the +87 kg weight class, Lilia Procopciuc’s student was beaten by Sotirios Michopoulos of Greece. Dragoș Marinescu scored victories against Greece’s Petros Bouklas, Turley’s Aziz Saglam and Petros Andreou of Cyprus. The athlete from Chisinau this year contended in the European Games of Krakow-Malopolska.

The European Under 21 Championships in Bucharest also involved Alin Manole, Vladimir Kirilin, and Iulia Nazarova.
