The draft State Budget has been already developed and will be debated after the New Year, announced Liberal-Democrat leader Vlad Filat after a meeting with President Nicolae Timofti.

“Technically, parliamentary debates cannot be held now on next year's Budget. But this doesn't mean that the country is being left without a Budget. There are legal provisions that allow Budget matters to be implemented next year too”, said Vlad Filat.

He added that the bill will be put up for debate first in the Government and then in the Parliament immediately after the winter holidays. Vlad Filat reminded that the situation is not new: in 2010 Moldova also stepped into the new year without an adopted annual Budget.
