The Cabinet on May 16 agreed the draft national mass media development concept of Moldova for 2018-2025, IPN reports.
The goal to strengthen the media system will be achieved by creating an efficient normative framework for regulating the activity of the mass media in a secured space. According to the government, fair competition conditions will be ensured for relevant business entities, including by drafting a new law on advertising in accordance with the international standards.
The concept also specifies measures to increase the professionalism of specialists in the field. In particular, there will be adjusted the training programs for the professional formation of managers in the broadcasting, print and online media. Cooperation will be strengthened between all the national and international institutions that examine the media sector, it is said in the informative note to the draft.
