The head of the Parliament’s legal commission for appointments and immunities Raisa Apolschii registered a draft decision concerning the resignation of five lawmakers, who renounced the seats of MP in favor of the posts held before entering the election campaign. These are: Grigore Belostecinic, of the PLDM, Ion Tomai, of the PCRM, and Dorin Chirtoaca, Mihai Moldovanu and Veronica Herta, of the PL.

Grigore Belostecinic renounced the seat in favor of the post of rector of the Academy of Economic Sciences. Ion Tomai chose to keep the post of head of the Ocnita District Council. Dorin Chirtoaca returned to the mayoralty of Chisinau, while Mihai Moldovanu to the City Hall’s Health Division, which he heads. Veronica Herta decided to return to the post of head of the Finance Division of the Chisinau City Hall.

The substitute candidate of the PLDM, who will replace Grigore Belostecinic in Parliament, is Aliona Gota, 44, who is the mayor of Cucoara village of Cahul district. She is a teacher of Romanian language and literature.

Teacher and public administration manager Elena Gudumac, 46, will join the Communist parliamentary group.

The substitute candidates on the list of the PL are IT engineer Mihaela Iacob, 41, lawyer Ion Casian, 61, and company manager Vladimir Cernat, 40.

Contacted by IPN, all the five substitute candidates confirmed that they are ready to enter Parliament.

Under Article 70 of the Constitution, the seat of MP is incompatible with any other paid post, except for teaching and scientific activity.
