The draft decision on the general principles concerning the introduction of the electronic taxation system in the public transport of Chisinau municipality was remitted for reexamination at the request of the Socialist councilors, IPN reports.
In its October 31 meeting, the Chisinau Municipal Council was to constitute a working group that was to draft within a month the plan of action for implementing the electronic taxation system.
Ruslan Codreanu, councilor of the Electoral Bloc “European People’s Platform – Iurie Leanca”, proposed examining the draft decision so that the inancial resources needed for implementing the system could be planned in the 2018 municipal budget. But the Socialist councilors didn’t support the proposal. According to them, some of the provisions of the draft decision are not clear and the composition of the working group cannot be agreed without holding consultations.
In 2010, the Chisinau City Hall said the inhabitants of the capital city in 2012 at the latest will not need to purchase tickets from conductors as they will pay for trips by an electronic card. However, the electronic taxation system in the public transport of Chisinau hasn’t been yet introduced.
