Dozens of trees were downed by the strong winds of the evening of July 29. Some of these fell onto the roadway, while others on gas pipelines and cars. The rescuers intervened in Chisinau as well, IPN reports.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, the rescuers removed trees downed on the roadway in the districts of Briceni, Râșcani, Glodeni, Dondușeni, Drochia, Soroca, Ungheni. In Cupcini village of Edineț descript, a tree fell onto the roof of a house, while in Soroca town and Bălți municipality downed trees fell onto natural gas pipelines.
In the municipality of Chisinau, the rescuers took away trees that fell onto cars parked on the streets of Chisinau and in the yards of apartment buildings.
The electric power suppliers informed that 24 settlements in the districts of Glodeni, Dondușeni, Florești, Anenii Noi and Criuleni experienced power outages following the torrential rain accompanied by hail and high winds. Sixteen localities were still disconnected from the power supply this morning.
