Two Chisinau driving school directors and an instructor Friday were escorted to the National Anticorruption Center to be questioned within a criminal case started over traffic of influence. The three are suspected of repeatedly asking by €250 from a man for issuing a driver’s license to him, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the National Anticorruption Center, the man said the three told him they have influence on officials of the state documentation company “Registru” and can persuade them to facilitate the driving exam for different categories for him.
During the investigation, anticorruption prosecutors and the National Anticorruption Center recorded transactions to transmit 1,600 lei and €500 for obtaining the driver’s license. Upon searches at the homes, office and in the vehicles of the suspects, the prosecutors found the money from the last tranche and documents of applicants for licenses.
A person was arrested, while the other two are investigated on the outside. They face up to seven years behind bars.
